It’s the kind of place where your auto mechanic invites you to a crawfish boil and a total stranger may buy you a drink at an Irish pub or a cannoli at an Italian bakery. Take the red streetcar line up Canal to the Cemeteries (Mid-City’s dead neighbors are as interesting as the live ones) or bike the new 2.6-mile-long Lafitte Greenway that stretches from Basin Street to Carrollton Avenue and, conveniently, past a po’ boy shop or two – or 17 – with a sno-ball shop and a micro-brewery thrown in for good measure. Buttermilk biscuits. Live music. A bowl of Vietnamese pho. Who wouldn’t want to visit? Eat. Drink. Get up here.

Four bedrooms sleep up to eight guests, each outfitted with plush beds, soft linens, room-darkening shades, and ample clothing storage - including walk-in closets. A Roku Smart TV in every room means everyone can wind down at their own pace after a full day in the city.
Kitchen & dining
The kitchen is the kind you'll actually want to cook in - equipped with a Frigidaire refrigerator, electric stove, single oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker, plus cooking basics, dishes, silverware, wine glasses, and a baking sheet. Coffee is provided to get your mornings started, and the dining table brings everyone together for meals in.
Living & workspace
The living area gives the group a comfortable place to decompress, stream movies, or plan the next day's route. Fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace with a door make it easy to stay connected if you're working remotely. Central air conditioning, central heating, and ceiling fans keep the temperature right regardless of the season.
Outdoor living
The backyard is gated and set up with outdoor furniture and a BBQ grill - a natural spot for low-key evenings without leaving the property. The shared heated pool is available year-round, open 24 hours, and stocked with pool toys and loungers. Free driveway parking for one car and free street parking round out the conveniences.
Family-friendly features
Traveling with children? A pack 'n play/travel crib (sheets provided) and a folding high chair are both available upon request, and babysitter recommendations can be arranged. In-unit washer and dryer, along with shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and shower gel, make longer stays and families with young kids much easier to manage.

A 5-minute walk puts you at the Canal Streetcar stop, connecting you to the rest of the city without the need for a car. The Endymion parade route is close by, as are City Park, the Lafitte Greenway bike path, Trader Joe's, Frenchmen Street, and Bourbon Street. Local cafés and po'boy shops are within easy reach for when you want to eat like a local.

I've stayed next door several times but needed a few extra rooms this time for several members of my staff in town for Louisiana Teacher Leader Summit. Michael came through with this at the last minute. They all loved the place. Check-in process need a little work, but overall, a great rental.

The house was beautiful with comfortable beds and in a central location to many activities. Unfortunately, we had safety concerns that we didn’t feel the host took seriously. Our check in time was 4pm but the host made an exception to allow us entry at 3. We arrived after three and still hadn’t received the code, so we waited on the stoop with our luggage while a houseless man urinated across the street from us. By 4pm we still had not received our code, so we called the host at 4:10 and only reached his voicemail. We called customer service at 4:21 who said they would reach out for us, and we finally received the code at 4:32.
Once we received the code, we realized the numbers on the lockbox were already set to the exact code that had been given to us. This was very disturbing as the last person at the house would have access if we chose to store a key in the box during our stay. We reached out to the host explaining our concerns and the response stated, “We have already provided the lockbox code to you yesterday if you want we can send it again.” And the same code was sent again. We did not feel heard as we wanted a new code to feel safe in the house.
In addition, the house was not fully stocked for six people to stay for eight nights as there were not enough coffee mugs, glasses, cooking utensils, T.P. or trash bags. Also, there was only one roll of paper towels and one bath towel per person. We found ourselves paying for Ubers to replenish the basics we needed.
