Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our time in Duck. Our group included 6 adults, aged 20-87. When we got to the house, cleaners pulled in behind us to “ re-clean” the bedrooms. We noticed many hairs throughout the house after they left. The baseboards all could use a thorough cleaning. The pool area, surrounded by sand and dirt, was constantly dirty. We never could get all the sand out of the pool. We had a big storm on Monday that blew a ton of sand and dirt into the pool and asked the maintenance team to come out to fix the problem. They told us they would be out on Wednesday or Thursday. When we complained, they did send someone out on Tuesday. The pool guy was great and he said that until someone surrounds the pool with a solid surface they will always have dirt in that pool. Check out was easy

The house has been recently updated with high-quality finishes and furnishings, and a lot of thought has been put into the guest experience - labels on switches, a well-stocked kitchen, instructions on appliances, etc. The location is perfect - close to everything in Duck and Sanderling, but surprisingly quiet. A March OBX visit is always a gamble with the weather, but the hot tub and the beautiful sound views from inside the house really took the edge off the cold, windy weather. We ran into one maintenance issue and were impressed that the owner provided a direct point of contact and was very responsive, as was Beach Realty. This house was a great find!

First stay in Duck. The property was in a great location and getting to and from the beach was easy. The property is part of the Sea Tern neighborhood directly across the street. It’s a 600 yard walk that takes about 5-6 minutes. There is a section in the neighborhood all the way at the end where you can park, if needed. We used that as a drop off and pick up point. The views were wonderful and peaceful. However the property needs TLC. Interior painting is needed, the interior seating is extremely limited with two chairs and a small couch, rotting boards on the pier, vegetation growing through the dock (lawn service had not cut prior to our arrival) we had to maneuver through it, multiple televisions were not working or not even hooked to any type of cable or were not smart TV’s. The televisions are in desperate need of updating. Bedding was fair, limited kitchen utensils if you are bringing a bigger group; acceptable for a small group. Pots and pans need updating. The grill is in desperate need of being replaced but it works. The pool was nice and loungers comfortable and solid. There was no cover of any sort on the pool deck from the sun. The steps on the pier going into the water are extremely slippery. The landscapers showed up during our stay and took up the entire parking area. They were there only about 30 minutes so not a big issue but it should have been done prior to our arrival. Overall it’s a OK property. We will be researching other places in the future.
