Imagine being surrounded by nature away from everything but still only minutes from all the luxuries of what you need & want. Picturesque community in the heart of Portage Lakes that reminds you of what life used to be like. Quiet & enjoyable, whether your cooking out, kayaking on the lake, swimming, or relaxing with a fishing pole. This is a hunting & fishing paradise.
Need or forgot something, Acme fresh market is less than 5 minutes away with no traffic along with an array of restaurants & shops. Not to mention endless parks, biking & hiking trails. 20-25 mins will get you to The Pro Football Hall of Fame, Akron Zoo, The Science Center, Cuyahoga National Forest & Golf courses. The Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame is 40-45 mins & the No.1 Amusement Park in the World Cedar Point is just over an hour away.
What you will notice about what we are trying to do here is make everything less stressful. Like providing outdoor gas grill, kayaks with life vests for all sizes, Tiki Torches for those nights whether you need them or just want them for ambiance. We also try to surround you with plants & flowers. Binoculars to watch humming birds & owls, wood peckers and other beautiful birds. Everything nature has to offer is just a stay away. We have completely remodeled everything from Fresh paint, New furniture, wood floors, cabinets to the granite counter tops and then some. It will stay nice and (clean) for every guest that stays with us, that's our promise to you. We believe we will be your come back destination. See You Soon... P.S. People with mobility or weight issues may have trouble at our location. Also if you a complain alot & carry a negative energy. Please don't consider us. Anyone can find something wrong with anything. But nobody wants to hear or read about it.

There are SO many pluses here. I'll start with everything that was wonderful; I'll then note a few things that people searching properties might miss if they're not reading each listing in detail.Immaculately clean and cozy with two lovely outdoor seating options, one of which is a large back deck right off the upper bedroom. Those sleeping in the upper bedroom will wake up to a view of sunrise over the lake.Host is communicative and friendly; wifi is good; kitchen is nicely set up with new sets of dishes, pots/pans, utensils, even tupperware! Many little touches are thought of – – basic spices in the cupboard, paper towels, dish soap, “minor emergency” items like a toilet plunger, iron & ironing board. Lake (Long Lake Reservoir) is very quiet and beautiful. I spent hours paddling around! Tons of native plants and wildlife. There's a nature preserve nearby that you can paddle right into.Things you'll want to plan for include the following. Almost all of these are listed by the host, but VRBO can make them hard to find. This cottage is next to another rental house, and they're close together. There's one toilet (upstairs) and one shower (downstairs). Spiral staircase between levels (or regular stairs outside). The water is well water. Pets must be crated when you're not with them. Between the parking space and the front door are 13 stairs, with secure handrails and lights. Plan accordingly and you'll have a wonderful time!

Such a nice host! Beautiful property to sit outside with coffee or a glass of wine in the evening (we did both). Enjoyed the park and hall of fame the back to the lake to relax. So many interesting birds active around the water. Place was spotless. PS If you like breweries there are many good ones around.

My husband and I stayed for four nights. The host was wonderful and the property is beautiful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the animals, both in and out of the water. An extra bonus was getting to see a bald eagle land in a neighboring tree!! The kayaks were a nice bonus and the local area was great too. Thank you for a wonderful, relaxing visit!

The property location is strange, but the location on the lake is amazing. We had a great sunrise every morning. The top floor of the property is great. The layout is strange. There is only a toilet and sink up top, the shower is on the lower floor which is difficult to get to using the spiral staircase. The neighborhood was difficult to maneuver through, and a bit run down. The lake house is one of the nicest properties we saw. Our biggest drawback was the smell of the water in the house. I am assuming it was a well water. It was undrinkable and after showering we still felt unclean.
