As advertised, canal is shallow at low tide keep in mind if you have a deeper draft boat. Location is great for fishing and diving.

I rented Martina’s property from late Feb – late March 2024 and had a very enjoyable stay. This is a great house for small groups. So many of the rental houses in the keys are designed for much larger groups and sometimes it is difficult to find a nice place for just a couple, or small family, or in my case, just me. I used the house as a base for daily fishing excursions on my motorized kayak, and for this it is very well situated. It is very close to the open water, so if you have a boat you can be out fishing quickly. One minor issue – the canal is east-facing, so after several days of Easterly winds, sometimes it gets a bit clogged with seaweed, but it is still manageable and the entrance to the canal does have barriers to help control the issue. The house itself is very nice, with two nice bedrooms, modern furnishings, a full kitchen, all the appliances you need, etc. There is also a large freezer in the open sitting area below the house, which I used to store ice and frozen bait. Nice house and nice vacation!

This was the first time the hubby and I were actually excited and happy to leave a VRBO. Would have left after 14 days if we hadn't paid for 28 days.
