An escape to nature

The location of this place is wonderful - fresh air, beautiful landscapes, birds of prey... The glamping pods and shepherd's huts are thoughtfully spaced out, with everyone having their own space that isn't overlooked or encroached on by neighbouring pods. The shared facilities are more than adequate for the amount of people. The site is well signposted, and there is dedicated car parking away from the main site. The staff are almost as friendly as the chickens 😆 Overall, a gorgeous site that we would probably return to again.

As with all shared facilities, you are reliant upon other people keeping things clean, so the showers and toilets weren't always in great condition during our stay. There are a lot of 'added extras' available, which felt somewhat obligatory, such as firewood and bedding. Check before you go, and make sure to consider what you will need. We needed to purchase firewood for the stove, even in August, and most people opted for the late check out, which was £10 for one hour. The car park is a short walk away from the site. You can bring cars up to load/unload, but this became gridlocked upon everyone leaving, so we had to take things directly to the car park.

Fantastic cosy pods, views are amazing! It’s a really lovely site. Warmly greeted by the owner and staff when we arrived. Made to feel very welcome.

Some of the shared cooking facilities and equipment in the bothy are a little tired after a lot of use, and could do with being replaced.
