Chengdu Chuanjia Courtyard House

One of the most exceptional hotel experiences I’ve ever had! I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The property itself is stunning, but what truly made my stay unforgettable was the extraordinary level of service and hospitality. From the moment I made my reservation, the staff went above and beyond. They created a WeChat group with my personal butler and checked in with me several times before my arrival. Because the hotel is located on a pedestrian-only street, they sent me an exact pin for my DiDi drop-off and arranged for someone to meet me there and carry my luggage to the hotel. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with tea and a chocolate while they handled my check-in, then personally escorted me to my room. The property is housed in a beautifully restored traditional Chinese building, with gorgeous architecture, thoughtful design, and books tucked throughout the common spaces. It feels wonderfully authentic and peaceful. My room was beautiful and exceptionally comfortable, with a lovely private patio and view, a spotless bathroom with a heated toilet seat, a very comfortable bed, and automatic blackout shades. A handwritten welcome note and fresh fruit were waiting for me when I arrived, and the fruit was replenished daily. The location is fantastic, right in the Kuanzhai Alley area, but tucked away on Jing Alley, which somehow manages to be remarkably quiet and peaceful despite being so centrally located. And then there were all the little touches that made the experience so special. Every evening, they offered to bring warm milk and a cookie to my room before bed. They checked in with me daily to ask whether I wanted housekeeping and reminded me of afternoon tea service. They greeted me warmly every time I came and went, always interested in what I was doing and whether I needed anything. The laundry service was wonderful.

The service is second to none and the staff worked hard to ensure all your requests are met. The stay feels very homely unlike a typical hotel stay. The location is excellent with the key streets just around the corner and we practically back to our room almost instantly after the shopping and sightseeing. We hope to return one day to stay longer.

This is an incredibly beautiful and well designed boutique hotel. The attention to detail is first class. The beds are super comfortable, gorgeous linen very clean. They served us the most delicious platters for afternoon tea of fruit and specialty cheesecakes. Nothing was a problem for them they even upgraded our room to a larger one. Impeccable service and English speaking butler who was so helpful.

There was nothing I disliked about the property or staff here. I was unsure about booking as there was only one excellent review on booking.com but I see now this hotel is very new to booking.com. Highly recommend staying here and a fabulous quiet location but close to all the sites and beautiful alleys.

Extremely hospitable thoughtful staff in a newly opened, beautifully decorated old house right on the edge of narrow and wide alleys pedestrian area. It felt removed from the business of the old town and yet 2 steps away from it. The food was delicate and very well presented.
