Explore the trails of Zalaski State Forest, where you can hike, bike, and immerse yourself in nature. A short drive will take you to Lake Hope State Park, a haven for boating, fishing, and swimming. Visit the Lake Hope Dining Lodge for dining with a lake view! On the sourthern fringe of the Hocking Hills Region, you are less than 30 minutes away from Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Old Mans Cave, Rock House, John Glenn Astronomy Park, and more. You may simply want to stay put and grill out on the deck or enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch and watch the sunrise. Should you find yourself not wanting to leave the cabin, there are plenty of amenities to keep you occupied and entertained.

Excellent spot for a get away. If you wanted to get in the Hocking area but without the Hocking chaos, this is the area. We could have easily commuted to some of the iconic Hocking landmarks, and that might be a good idea for you. As for my family, with the age of our kids, Lake Hope and its beach and trail system was plenty for us. The bumpy unpaved backroads to the Moonville tunnel was a lot for our minivan, but great fun for the kids. McArthur provided all we needed for supplies and groceries, even as very small town. You just need to not expect to see a Whole Foods or a Starbucks. Enjoy the local places. Also, the Lake Hope dining lodge was truly excellent. The brisket was amazing. The cabin itself was excellent. It was clean, and had many amenities we appreciated. The Monopoly, Uno, and Packman games were well loved, and we were never wanting when it came to utensils, pots and pans. The addition of a piano might have just been a decoration for most, but my young pianist was thrilled. It was also great to have for our Family worship. Finally, as family in a major metro area, it was truly special to stay up late, turn out the lights, and just enjoy the quiet night and see more stars than our light polluted home town could ever manage. Thanks for the excellent mini-cation.

The house is very warm and welcoming. My husband and son loved playing pool in the game room. We loved the open kitchen with all of amenities. The walk-in shower was perfect after a day of hiking. The house is conveniently located to multiple parks in the area - Zaleski Forest, Hocking Hills, Lake Hope, and Lake Alma. The area is also very quiet and peaceful. The hosts were quick to respond if I had a question. I highly recommend this lovely cabin and hope to return soon.

We had the best long weekend at this cabin. It was clean, spacious, private and cozy. The kitchen came equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals. The hot tub was a highlight for our kids. The host was super responsive. We plan to book again in the future!
