The place was really exceptional. It was on the top floor and right on the shopping street in the city. It was really spacious, maybe around 1200 to 1300 sf . There is coffee and tea in the kitchen. When we step out of the apartment, we could shop and eat right away. For our 8 days' trip, this is our last stop and the best stay. I highly recommended this place. The host was extremely responsive.
The host was very responsive and emailed back quickly. But the check in instruction was in a sharedrive. I didn't see that until I got to the building. I didn't have internet nor cell signal so it took me 10 minutes by walking outside the car and into a store to get wifi to open the check in instruction. If the host can just send a short message about how to get the key , that will be really helpful. The living room has sheer curtain but not blackout curtain, so sleeping in the living room is an issue. There is a laundry machine but not dryer (not sure this is common in Iceland). The above issues make his place 9 out of 10.

This apartment exceeded our expectations in every way. It was perfectly furnished and so comfortable. Communication was top notch. Very close to city activities. We loved our stay here!

I love the cozy feeling of the place, it was beautiful, well curated, clean and spacious. My sisters and I appreciated the complete amenities and free coffee pods.
1. While the stay had potential, the payment process was stressful. The owner’s preference for 'cash or bank transfer' was only communicated on day of arrival, whereas I prefer the security of paying by credit card thru Booking.com. Although I settled via bank transfer on the second day, a lack of communication between the manager and owner led to a major misunderstanding. On the 5th morning, I was woken up by the owner's message threatening to involve the police because they hadn't verified the payment. I believe this was largely due to a language barrier and poor timing—as I was sleeping in after a late-night Northern Lights tour—but it was an incredibly unprofessional way of handling it. So not cool!
2. Poor Management & Unreliable WiFi: It was virtually unusable, forcing me to rely on my own roaming data just to check emails. Furthermore, communication with the manager was frustrating; he often sent crucial information at the last minute while we were already out on tours. Due to the poor connectivity at the flat, I wouldn't see these updates until returning in the evening. He does not respond right away too! He's kinda slow in relaying messages as I've learned.
3. Lack of Basic Information: The manager seemed unfamiliar with the property’s amenities. We've been requesting for a hairdryer, only to be told on our FINAL DAY that it was hidden inside the bathroom mirror. The mirror looks like a flat fixture and is not obviously a cabinet; a simple house manual would have help locate things.
4. Managing trash was a hassle. We had to haul it down ourselves, but the bin enclosure was frequently locked, forcing us to check back every day. It was only on our departure that the owner finally told us we could leave the rubbish for the cleaners. Considering the high housekeeping fees charged at booking, it was a relief to finally see that service put to use!
5.Microwave was located on the top shelf above the refrigerator. Who does that?!
