View was amazing.

We had check in at 3pm which was confirmed. They said how to get into the property would be sent at 3. Which is was but not the full instructions. Receptionist said usually it’s from a shop but the door was left opened with the key inside the property but why was this not told at 3? Had to phone another number who said to us that it was the wrong number but still proceeded to tell us how to get in. As the original number was not even answering. 10 minutes since we checked in he looked at the ring door bell so why could none of my phone calls Or messages have been answered as I was Waiting around for about half An hour carrying everything. checked the ring doorbell and seen 2 helium balloons. Then messaged me on WhatsApp, which I did not think was in a very professional manner to tell me no parties were allowed. Since when did balloons mean a party!! But could not answer when he knew what time I’d get to the property. Proceed to charge me £70 for 2 balloons because of the mess it will Leave behind when there was no mess left behind!! To me it was a money grab otherwise I could not have stayed if I didn’t pay this which is not stated anywhere. Apparently they charge a lot more than £70 but because it was my birthday it was £70 which is wild in itself. I hate to be that person to leave a bad review, I was sceptical at first due to the reviews but all these complaints can be avoided. The £70 extra charge is unacceptable and walking around for that long was not needed. If you don’t mind being messed about and charged extra then I would recommend as the place itself was lovely although there was no kitchen roll, toilet was dirty and no body wash. The view is what really sold it for us. Small changes could make this place perfect unfortunate I had this experience especially with the price I already paid.

Once I found it. I can imagine ithe key collection works well if you are late at night. But the assumption was I understood where to go.

The instructions relied on knowing Birmingham city Center a google map link would be better for both the key pick up and the property. Given that there is a reception desk. I am not sure why this is not used. It would be one location to go to.

Apartment is amazing. Huge windows, comfy bed, lots of natural light. Fully stocked kitchen is great and the WiFi was good (when it actually started working).

The check in experience was the worst I've ever had in a hotel or Airbnb. It said check in from 3pm. I messaged a week or so in advance that I'd arrive between 3-4pm and was told that would be fine. The day before, I had received no info about how to check in so I messaged on WhatsApp and booking and received no reply. Then on the actual check in day, I hadn't received any info so I went an hour later. it was after 2pm when they finally contacted me to tell me I needed to send passport pics and then they'd give me the details straight away. Sent the pics immediately via WhatsApp and they said they'd send the details over "now." 15 minutes later, no reply. I messaged again and they said again that they'll send it now. No reply again. I went to Grand Central (which is where you have to pick up the keys for some reason) and I was just hanging around with all my luggage for another 30 minutes. At one point someone from the property called me and again said he'd send the info "now" then hung up on me and didn't send another message for 15 minutes. Finally, they sent over the key collection code and I got the key from Simply Local. I checked in easily enough after that but bear in mind this was the hottest day of the year and I'd just been marching around Birmingham city centre with all my luggage. I was hot and stressed and annoyed and when I got to the hotel, the WiFi didn't work and there was no plug in the bath (the bath was one of the reasons we chose this place). I told the guy about the WiFi and he told me to just turn it on (as if I hadn't tried that already). Eventually he called me and asked what the problem was. I explained it to him and he told me that WiFi is down all over Birmingham (which wasn't true) then I showed him the router and I followed his instructions and it didn't work so I moved it to another socket and it was fine there. Problem solved.
