I never leave reviews but needed to leave one to inform future travellers of our experiences.

Location was good with close proximity to city and Vic Markets. Air Conditioner worked well.

Host did not communicate well with the location of the keys. Host also took a very long time to respond to messages. I had to ask random shops near the apartment to find the keybox. Host requested us to check in late, to have the apartment cleaned. Upon arrival, the apartment was not clean. It was in such a state that did not feel hygienic to stay in. (Hair found in beds, and beds very obviously previously slept in and not cleaned. Half eaten food on kitchen bench, alcohol and dirty dishes in kitchen. Toilet not flushed and toilet seat was broken. The bins were still full from previous tenants. Towels were already all used and not cleaned.) No toilet paper at property, and as a side note there is no soap or shampoo provided so you will have to bring your own. The balcony had a very thick layer of bird poop that appears to have not been cleaned off in a while. Due to these issues, we had to find other accommodation in the late afternoon for the first day. The host had the apartment cleaned on the second day, which had allowed us to return to the property. (Bird poop on balcony remains however). Host has communicated they would return half of the payment, however has ignored any communication about this after the stay, and has requested to leave a review instead.

Good after it was clean we had to clean it again

To whom it may concern, Myself and a friend had a very unpleasant and unhygienic recent two night stay at one of your apartments listed on Booking.com Details: Address: 502/253 Franklin Street Melbourne Dates 24.10.25-26.10.25 Upon arrival at the listed address and as quoted from Booking.com “Stylish Apartment in Melbourne” (which was a complete false advertisement) we were not given the lock box details and just received a generic email welcoming us to the apartment. We had to call the number listed numerous times where our call was not answered and then follow up by a text requesting details of where said lockbox was. When we entered the apartment the room was dark (blinds down) and there was a smell coming from the apartment. As we looked closer the floor had obviously not been clean (swept or vacumed or mopped) there was items that had belonged to the previous tenets (I can assume ) still in the apartment, marks of faeces in the toilet bowl, the linen on the bed had not been stripped or cleaned (clean fresh linen was not provided or washed or dried) hair throughout the bedding and marks of the doona covers, the sofa mattress when it was pulled out the sheet on it was also disgusting with markings all over the sheets. Upon further inspection there was no clean towels or change of linen anywhere in the apartment and all of the dirty towels from previous people was left in a washing basket on top of the washing machine, there was a blocked bathroom sink drain and no hot running water from the shower and a very potent smell. We tried to call the number numerous times however no one picked up the phone call. We messaged and sent photos of the room and expressed how disappointed and disgusted this was to walk into. We had travel from interstate for this stay as we were coming to Melbourne for a concert. When we wrote this to the number allocated to the property they stated that they could get a cleaner at 6:00pm-7:00pm.

The lack of communication and the fact he didn’t give us the full refund he said he was going to give us . We exited it cleaner than when we walked in no hot water pressure the toilet seat was broken and the lack of communication was terrible

The location was great! Being over the road from the Queen Victoria Market was amazing. Close to the trams and short walk to a train station also was a great bonus. Building felt safe with only gaining access with a key fob. Amazing food options nearby.

No wifi and my messages had no reply asking about this also which was disappointing. Also lots of rough sleepers/homeless people over the road at night which can’t be helped but was a downside for us not feeling safe out at night.
