The grandeur of it all! What a stunning property! A genuine last minute booking as we simply needed a budget priced place to put our heads down before the ferry the following day.
A mere 15 mins later we rounded the corner thinking we'd come to the wrong address! I even hit the brakes to check if I'd actually only paid the deposit rather than the full price 😂
Wow! Our jaws literally hit the floor - the drive lined with tall trees reaching up to the heavens, the wee bridge across the moat where there sat countless little quacking ducks, the sweeping facade of the evidently historic building, all viewed under a lush blue sky. There was even a vintage car sitting outside the main door making it look like a set from a period drama.
Inside the building was equally incredible. Huge, comfortable, cosy, homely. I could've stayed here forever. Enormous couch in the living room, all tastefully furnished with all facilities. Tea, coffee, spices for cooking.
In conclusion, this was the last night of our two weeks in Europe and it turned into the crowning jewel. Seriously stunning.
Oh, I'm positive I heard peacocks calling the following morning but sadly we had to quickly pack and go. Perhaps you'll have time to wander the beautiful grounds in search of them.
Definitely a return visit on the cards for us, even if we don't get such a bargain price next time.
Ah, my only gripe - the separate dinky Dutch toilets. I've found this regularly in the Netherlands. Is it a thing? I think it might be. I do like a larger bathroom rather than a squeeze to sit down. However, it's balanced nicely in this property by a big shower washroom. Not a complaint, just an observation. Loved this place.

Leuke ligging bij de A Vogel tuinen waar we ook gezellig geborreld hebben aan de picknick tafel buiten.
Gezellige woonkamer en mooie badkamer en lekker de ruimte
De bedden waren erg hard en het buiten zitje achter stelt niets voor
$$$$
