Had a really nice stay at Auberge Halder. Before booking, I noticed a few negative reviews and was a bit hesitant, but it seems like they've addressed many of those concerns. My experience was positive from start to finish-the place was clean, comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
One thing I’d definitely recommend is checking out their new café. The food and coffee were excellent, and it was a great addition to the overall experience.
Glad I gave this place a chance, and I’d happily stay here again!

Endroit accessible à partir d'une route principale.
Odeur de "renfermé" dans la chambre réservée. Etablissement se trouvant devant une route très passante et bruyante. Pas de bacs de recyclage sur place (ou non visible/accessible). Dans la salle de bain privative de la chambre, l'eau prend du temps à devenir chaude lorsqu'on la fait couler. Manque une table de chevet dans la chambre. Avoir une couverture de lit supplémentaire dans la chambre serait apprécié.

We had a lot of fun but a lot of that was because we were so shocked when we arrived and saw accommodations that we accepted it as a story to laugh about and make the best of it. We were the only people there and there was only one staff person for the entire stay. The person working (don’t know his name because he didn’t speak English, or French) was super nice and paid us a lot of individual attention to make it the best experience possible. He was host, server, cook, entertainment, custodian… Because of him, I’d like to give this more stars, but I just can’t in good conscience. Without him, I’d likely be a one star. BUT, you get what you pay for and we didn’t pay much. We were shown to “the lounge” where there was a TV, couch, and some games. Luckily we had asked ahead and learned that if we wanted alcohol that we needed to bring it with us. So we thought we’d play crib and enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Unfortunately we found three decks of cards but none complete (couldn’t even make a complete one out of what was available) and the crib board had no pegs. We found a disk board game in the presentation/wedding room and played that while waiting for dinner. We enjoyed the dinner but didn’t expect it to be so limited based on the menu we saw. While wrapping up dinner, the host turned on music back in the wedding room with the board game so we spent an our or two playing in there before bed. We really did have a blast. But I think it helped that we had the place to ourselves and the “chef”/host really did everything he could to make us comfortable even though we had a language barrier.
Perhaps we didn’t read the description thoroughly but we didn’t like the shared bathroom and shower. The room had a small sink, a shelf sitting on what seemed like a coffee can to use as a night stand, old pilly sheets, and a stained mattress (we checked for bed bugs). I was surprised there wasn’t a TV but I guess the shared lounge was meant for that. We felt like overall the place hasn’t been taken care of. The deck was dangerously in disrepair. The walls were hastily painted in different colors with unfinished edges around light fixtures. The windows were held closed with wooden blocks. The more we looked, the more we didn’t like, so we just stopped looking and poured more wine.
