A truly adventurous stay off the beaten track! If you are looking for an authentic sustainable experience that also feels luxurious and exclusive, then the Coconut Lodge is the ideal location. This was a unique stay with the most incredible local team lead by Chamara, we felt really looked after and catered for at the lodge the whole time we were there. There are currently only 4 lodges which made our stay feel very special, the lodge offers a range of complimentary activities to support the sustainable tourism experience the lodge promotes. We opted for the forest walk and last night lagoon walk which were incredible experiences with our own guide. The lodge also has a naturalist/safari guide as part of their team, so we arranged our Wilpattu safari through the lodge which I would highly recommend and we had an amazing half-day safari experience. The lodge is located close to the back entrance of Wilpattu so it makes for a much quieter safari experience, we only saw 1 other jeep the whole afternoon and we were able to spot many birds, animals and elephants.
Special mention to the food as this was the best food we had in Sri Lanka!
This is a very off the beaten track location so if you are looking for a stay that feels a bit more adventurous then this would be the place for you.

Wij hadden een fantastisch verblijf, ongetwijfeld het beste verblijf in Sri Lanka. Zowel de kamer , accommodatie als de locatie was perfect. Op deze plaats kan je niet enkel verschillende safari’s / uitstappen plannen , maar ook echt tot rust komen. Plan hier dus zekere meerdere nachten als je even “weg wilt zijn” of tot rust wilt komen. Het personeel zal je met alle plezier en passie ontvangen!

Wir wünschten, wir hätten länger bleiben können! In drei Wochen Rundreise waren wir in den unterschiedlichsten Unterkünften - von Homestay bis Safari Lodge. The Coconut Experience war unser absoluter Favorit.
Die Umgehung ist superschön, das Essen hervorragend, aber was für uns den Aufenthalt besonders gemacht hat, war das unglaublich herzliche Team und die angebotenen Aktivitäten. Malindu und Chattu (hoffentlich richtig buchstabiert) waren grossartig, auch mit unseren Kindern und Fernando ein äußerst aufmerksamer Manager
Wir durften ua einen Baum pflanzen, Cashews rösten und der Bootsausflug in die Lagune und zu den Mangroven mit Lagerfeuer und Glühwürmchen bei Nacht waren einfach mega!
