Harshi and Rory are wonderful hosts and we felt welcome from the very beginning on. The villas and pool are very nice, super clean and well maintained. The lagoon is in easy reach by foot and interesting even if you don't do kite-surfing. The breakfast was great and any wish was catered for, including our very late check out.

We had a wonderful week-long stay at Blue Kite Retreat. In Kalpitiya, known as the kite surfing hub of Sri Lanka, there wasn't much to see or do as we didn't get to kite surf, but surprisingly, this stay turned out to be one of the best of our 2-month Sri Lanka trip. In this boutique hotel we had a spacious room with 2 large, comfortable beds and relaxing sofas, a lovely large bathroom with a walk-in closet. There was a nice dining area by the pool, a big pool and comfortable sunbeds that we enjoyed all day. I must also mention the delicious and hearty breakfasts. The pool and the grounds were well maintained and kept nice and clean. There were quite good restaurants nearby and within 3-4 km.
We also had the opportunity to meet the owner, Harshi and her husband, very pleasant couple who obviously put a lot of effort to build this place, and had pleasant conversations with them.
With special thanks to Suresh and his team for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
