Disrespectful, Deceitful, Disappointing and Dirty

The location was decent. Decor was pretty.

We were so disappointed by our stay here. While the location is convenient, the downsides massively outweigh the good. First and most egregious: The owner allowed someone to enter the property during our stay without our permission when we had specifically said we did not want them coming in! The owner also sent a tirade of rude messages to us when we asked him to rectify a couple of the more problematic issues with the property. Secondly, the listing is deceitful. Images show a bath, but there is no plug so you can't use it, there are air conditioning units, but they are designed to be externally fitted, so just pump heat back into the room. Lamps are broken or can't be plugged in due to the position of the power point. A TV is provided in the bedroom but also can't be plugged in for the same reason. Asking for extension cords resulted in rude messages from the owner and a delay of several days before he provided one. (His solution had been to shove the bed into the corner so the cord could reach, meaning that you keep bumping your head on the nightstand which then sticks into the mattress space). The kitchen is described as "well stocked" but lacks almost everything except cutlery and plates and bowls. You cannot use the oven safely as there are no oven mitts or ovenware provided. There is no plug for the sink, and no tea towels, so it's hard to do dishes. There's only a roll of paper towel which we were told would be replaced if we needed more, but when we asked for it we were just given toilet paper! The whole apartment was dirty and in disrepair. Dirty dishes had been put away in the cupboard, there were stains on the floor, cutlery is rusty, cupboard doors are coming off their hinges (one was fixed by the owner during our stay with our permission), the washing machine was mouldy, some of the gas burners didn't work, one shower didn't drain. A clothes airer is provided, but can't be used as it was missing pieces.

Location was convenient, 5 min walk to Hyde Park and Marble Arch tube.

There wasn't a comfortable surface to be found between the couches or beds. You will especially feel the coils digging into your hip bones in the main bed. Washing machine was mouldy so washed clothes in the bathtub using a coffee cup as a plug, as no plugs to be found. Kitchen cupboards and shelves falling apart/down. Very noisy with sirens as on a busy road. Looked up alternative accommodation immediately, but ultimately chose to suck it up and stick it out to save our money.
