The owner reached out on the chat in the morning prior to our arrival to inform us that we could check in earlier at the lovely cottage. We were welcomed by such a wonderful view and setting all around the cottage lost in the bright green of the Highlands. Even sheeps greeted and welcomed us upon our arrival. It was just lovely!
The cottage welcomes usually families, but we were just a couple enjoying this beautiful, spacious, very comfortable and charming cottage comprising a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room and a fully equipped huge kitchen. There were plugs everywhere even two European adaptors. Fantastic! The bedroom was so cosy. Showering or taking a bath was such a great experience as vegan eco friendly shower gel, body lotion, bath salt and a sea kelp bathroom spray were provided so as to reenergise you after a Highlands´ rainy day. Even though breakfast was not included in the stay, delicious snacks such as oat cookies, chocolate gluten free bar, still, sparkling water and an amazing organic apple juice among other welcoming treats were waiting for us in the kitchen. If you fancy a homey whisky tasting, a small bottle was waiting for us next to the couch together with some entertaining literature about Scotland such as a book about whales and dolphins that my wife enjoyed reading before sleeping. If you are not fancying cooking at Skye cottage, Portree is only a 15 minutes driving distance. We highly recommend this place to stay.
We had such a lovely fantastic stay at Skye cottage. There isn´t anything that we didn't´t like there.
However do not choose Portree to dine out as it is quite small and crowded. If you fancy a particular venue, beware that no booking is allowed. Do prepare to dine at 17:30 so as to potentially be able to secure a table. Unfortunately, we ended up having a very disappointing dinner in a bar.

Die Lage ist traumhaft, die Küche gut ausgestattet, es gibt sogar einen Weinkühlschrank, eine Picknickdecke und Mückennetze für den Kopf zum ausleihen.
es ist schon SEHR teuer, >300€ € pro Nacht im August für 2 Personen im Selbstversorgerhaus

Calme, bucolique, cosy, sans vis à vis, les moutons à côté, le poêle, l’ambiance, 15mn de Portree en voiture. Cuisine bien équipée.

Un petit cottage fort agréable, chaleureux et accueillant. Tout y est, on se sent presque comme chez soi, cuisine très bien équipée, tout y est pour passer un séjour agréable. Pour notre grande surprise, nous avons eu un panier de bienvenue, c'était vraiment très gentil de la part de l'hôte. Chambre spacieuse, peignoir, pantoufles de bain. La SdB est avec baignoire mais parois en verre pour la douche. Salon très chaleureux, avec un insert. La vue sur le Loch est splendide, ququs moutons autour.
Nous avons acheté du bois pour pouvoir chauffer avec l'insert car le chauffage est réglé de manière à ce qu'il ne marche pas l'après-midi, par temps de pluie et vent la température descend vite.
Un détail, la télé ne marchait pas
