Read before booking
Where do I start? Oh yes......AVOID!!!!!
I booked this two consecutive weeks for my wife to stay at while I was in King's College Hospital, just around the corner.
We found out a half hour before check-in that it was double-booked and it took an hour of calls and messages to sort out before she got let in. Unfortunately she wishes she hadn't.
The whole place is in disrepair, dirty and stinks of cigarette smoke.
The bathroom light doesn't turn off because the light pull is missing.
The hall light doesn't turn on.
The towel rail had been pulled off the wall and was in the kitchen cupboard.
The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall.
The single chair was spattered with white paint.
There's a crack in the window.
One wardrobe door is missing, the other opened to reveal a bin bag full of dirty towels.
There's an electrical box rooted out of the wall with exposed wires.
The TV needs propping up at one end because it sits at a ridiculous angle
There's no basic necessities that you'd expect at a place priced like this... hand soap, toilet roll, tea towel etc.
At 10:30pm on the first night of week 2 a cleaner knocked on the door. She had the landlord on the phone insisting that he had no booking and hadn't been paid. Despite explaining that I'd definitely paid but I was in hospital, he insisted that she get me on the phone and that I sort it out.
I had been in the intensive care unit 3 hours previously and wasn't really up for talking but he sent my wife a WhatsApp demanding £180 or £90 payment otherwise he would be round to remove her from the property.... This is at 11pm, in Brixton, a woman on her own.
I managed to speak to him and gave him the booking and payment reference and, after checking, he found it and apologised but not before deleting the threatening message (screenshots are a blessing, aren't they).
Week 2 continued to reveal what an overpriced place this is.

This would be a great stay given the location
The location was great. Lots of shops for groceries.
There was no toilet paper or hand soap, which I happily purchased. Staff wasn’t the most responsive and I’m waiting for my deposit back. The portal wasn’t working correctly and I had asked several questions and no one got back to me.

Filthy, disgusting, health hazard..

upon arrival the garden had a discarded fridge lying in it, filthy stains and dirt all the way up the stairs to the room, in the room we found what looked like bodily fluids on the couch, dirty earbuds in the bedroom chest drawers, pubic hairs in the bathroom on the floor and pipes, walls covered in black marks, Tv on a wonky chair, electrical box had a brush shaft in it , with Gas meters all around it so a spark would have sent the hold row of houses up in flames..
