If you are looking for a cheap place to stay by the Mackinaw ferries then this is a good spot. It was clean when we got there and most things worked as should. The only things that did not work was the WiFi and the bathroom sink which wasn’t a big deal. There are definitely a few spiders and other bugs running around in there but it’s not bad at all. The keypad on the door is a little touchy and it takes some practice to get good at it. This cabin is also on the property of an old motel so it can be a little confusing finding it at first. I didn’t communicate much with the owner, but I didn’t really have to as all my needs were met. I would caution using this spot if you have more than 2 people because I can imagine it would get crowded. It’s a super small cabin with one bathroom so just keep that in mind. It is also right by an alley which gets noisy at night when shopkeepers are throwing trash out etc. The phone number that is on the listing should probably be updated because when I tried to call it said disconnected. This space could also maybe use an outdoor fire pit or somewhere to congregate outside because there really isn’t a spot for that. Overall it was a good stay and did the trick!

The location was ideal to explore upper Michigan, lower Michigan and of course the Island via ferry. The cabin was clean and appealing with the woodwork walls and comfortable beds. I couldn't get hot water out of either sink, but the shower provided it. The kitchen could use bowls (for soup) and perhaps a knife to prep food. Otherwise it was a cabin adventure I expected. It was great. May need to add a new stove but other than that we liked it.

We loved the location of this property- SO close to downtown and very walkable. The downside was that the alley behind the house is home to large dumpsters that had a LOUD garbage pickup at 5:45 and multiple deliveries around that same time. The windows are not sound proof and they were loud enough to hear over our sound machine. The TV in the bedroom with the door is also not set up so we couldn’t enjoy that once our toddler went to bed in the doorless room. We liked the flooring and wood paneling updates but wish the kitchen got some of that same attention. We were also frustrated that the bathroom door didn’t close at all. The host did not respond to my WIFI question which was also disappointing. Some hooks on the wall would be a nice addition since there was no where to hang out jackets. Overall, great for a one night stay but more than that would have been tough.
