Excellent location with a lakeside view and nice garden. Accommodation and facilities exactly as advertised. Host was very responsive and helpful. Rurberg is a great location for swimming and hiking. The flat is only a 15-20 minute walk from the main part of the town.
The only issue was the hot water in the shower was not working. However, the host responded quickly to let us know this could be resolved by also running the bathroom tap.

The location of the property was "Stunning" with the view of the lake absolutely breath taking. The owner had sent details of how to collect the keys on arrival and the system worked perfectly. Rur am See is a perfect location within the Eifel region of Germany. As well as visiting Monschau and Badminster it is possible to take short walks around the lake and also board one of the boat excursions. There are good supermarkets in Simmerath some 5-6km away. The property was generally well equipped and we were able to enjoy breakfast on the outdoor area. This is an exceptionally quiet and peaceful area which we appreciated very much. There is a small, local pub just a short walk away, with a good traditional German atmosphere, although the menu is slightly limited; but nevertheless enjoyable.
Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were immediately struck by the unkempt nature of the garden, with numerous weeds and overgrown areas. Although the property had received some cleaning, there were several mops/brooms left against the kitchen wall and we felt the cleaning "hadn't been fully bottomed" The outdoor 'decking'area' with a fabulous view over the lake needs a thorough power wash in order to get rid of the build up of wear and tear! If you don't take your own towels and bedlinen, you have to pay an extra 15Euros per person. As 3 persons were staying 3 nights, the cost was 45Euros, which we felt was expensive for 2 duvet covers and 6 towels which had been well worn. Only 1 tea towel was provided, although to be fair soap and washing up liquid had been left for our use.

Viel Platz, tolle Lage und traumhafter Ausblick von Terrasse und Schlafzimmer auf den See, alles sehr sauber. Sehr hilfsbereite und flexible Vermieter . Nur 10 min mit dem Fahrrad zur nächsten Badestelle des Rursees.
