Terrible Realty Company
I would not recommend staying at OSM03: SWEET CAROLINA in Corolla. Our stay was disappointing from the start.
On the very first night, we realized the fridge was leaking, and to make dinner for 10 (2-3 hrs) even harder, three of the stove burners didn’t work. A technician was eventually sent, but nothing was actually fixed during our stay. The sink disposal was also broken.
The TV setup is extremely outdated—couldn’t even use the Roku. While the old VCR tapes were a nostalgic touch, most were scratched and unwatchable. The sunroom, which should have been a highlight, was unusable because it was so stinky.
The downstairs game room reeked of mildew, and guests staying in the nearby room actually felt sick after the first night from the smell. Pest issues were another headache—fruit flies and mosquitos everywhere.
To make things worse, check-in was at 4:30pm (much later than Airbnb or VRBO standards) and checkout at 10am, which felt rushed and unfair. For what we paid, not even providing basics like trash bags or dishwasher detergent is unacceptable or the norm.
The “owner gift” was a donut shop certificate, but honestly, not worth the trouble.
Overall, the condition of the house, lack of essentials, and poor management response made this a terrible stay. Next time, I’ll stick with Airbnb or VRBO where standards and service are much better.
