We recently stayed at the Icon City Hotel Samarinda for two nights (June 16-18) with a group of two families, booking three standard rooms and one deluxe suite. For a three-star hotel, this place offers absolutely outstanding value and truly exceeded our expectations. One of the best things about this hotel is the location. It’s tucked away from the busy main roads, so it's wonderfully quiet, yet it's still close enough to easily get anywhere you need to go in the city. Between the peaceful environment and the stylish decor, it honestly felt more like a cozy boutique hotel than a standard three-star property. The customer service here is where Icon City really shines. We noted our arrival time in our booking, and all four of our rooms were ready and waiting the moment we walked through the doors. When we realized we weren't entirely happy with one of the standard rooms, the staff didn't miss a beat. They took immediate note, tried their absolute best, and quickly prepared another room on the same floor so our families could stay close together. They even sent up a complimentary dessert for the trouble! Our rooms were spotlessly clean and exceptionally neat. A highly appreciated and eco-friendly touch was having water dispensers conveniently located right outside the rooms in the hallway. We also loved dining at their in-house restaurant, Heaven. The food and drinks were fantastic across the board, but the banana bread and kaya toast are absolutely to die for—do not skip them!
I highly recommend Icon City Hotel. We will definitely be back!
The only minor downside to our stay was a noticeable lack of bathroom amenities. When we requested extra towels, we were asked to exchange, but after I told them that we needed extra clean towels, they gave it to us. However, considering the price and the incredible service, this hardly put a damper on our trip.

-EXECUTIVE ROOM is spacious
-Staff is very warm
-Soto Banjar on breakfast is very good and it as able to takeaway for single traveller
-cleanliness not to attention to detail. The back on tv was dusty and has crumbled of paint
-the room has a connecting door which is very noisy from room next door
-Mini-fridge is not working and been inform to front desk to fix it upon make up room but nothing fixed
-the breakfast on 2nd day(18/8) came very late. I have been waiting for about 30 minutes and unable to take the breakfast due to working time
