Very bad smell. Sewage smell coming from the shower area.

The location is good

This apartment was far below an acceptable standard. The cleaning was extremely poor, and the shower enclosure produced an overpowering damp, mould-like and sewage/drain smell that spread into the bedroom and made it almost impossible to sleep. We tried using cleaning products ourselves, but the odour remained. The building is also very old with virtually no sound insulation, so conversations, footsteps and normal daily talk from neighbouring apartments could be heard clearly at all hours, leaving us with little privacy or comfort. The washing machine and the hair dryer were not working. The host’s response was equally disappointing. I reported the smell issue during the stay and repeatedly tried to communicate through Booking.com, telephone and WhatsApp, yet no effective solution was provided before our departure. Asking for a photograph of the shower box was not reasonable because the problem is the smell. After my departure, i found that one of the previous tenants wrote a review here in booking.com about the same bad smell. Based on my experience, the apartment was not properly prepared for guests, the bathroom condition was unacceptable, and the level of support was completely inadequate. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it unless the cleanliness, drainage, odour and sound-insulation issues are properly resolved.
