The attention to detail was great. The bedding was awesome, and the deck and extras like the hot tub were superb. Great get away for two people. And lots of wine farms to visit in the surrounding towns.
The proximity to the R62 was closer than what we expected, even though this was pointed out on the site. But once we unpacked and relaxed, we realised the road was not that busy or noisy.

Beautiful eco-pod, really gorgeous.
Very clean.
Extremely comfortable bed and day bed.
Large shower.
Kitchen with all the equipment required (see below). ,
Lovely little fireplace that keeps the whole house warm.
Lots of additional "spaces": a boma, table and chairs with an umbrella on the deck, lounger chair and the MOST amazing mat to lie on for hours, two chairs on the upside veranda, a bench at the back. Amazing to find so many spaces in such a small area.
The views and especially sunsets is TO DIE for (but see below).

I was surprised to see on my arrival that the big, main road between Calitzdorp and Bonnievale runs 300-400 m from the house... So, I never could get away from the noise and lights of cars and trucks driving passed, even during the night. It puts a bit of a damper on the expected experience of nature. I had to put on background music all the time to distract from the noise. That helped, so I was not too unhappy.
Note that there is no dishwasher, and the cabin is also not serviced daily. So, be prepared to do your own dishes (not the worst), and clean the ash from the fireplace (less fun, especially since I didn't know what to do with the ash, and therefore just made a fire on the ash the next night). Suggestion: Perhaps have the cabin serviced daily, or offer it as an extra add-on?
I personally don't care for the non-native cacti that has been planted. It is such a GORGEOUS environment, with the most beautiful, natural fynbos. No need for gardening, nature is giving you a garden for free! But OK, that's also personal taste, I guess. 😁
