Bathroom: Bath, Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Welcome pack.. Enclosed back garden with sitting-out area and garden furniture. On-road parking. No smoking. Please note: Step in garden.. Stanwix Cottage dates back to the 1650s and was originally the Stables for the old Coaching Inn which is now the local pub. Completely recently refurbished and renovated and is a real home from home and the ideal base for exploring the beautiful border city of Carlisle and further afield. Stanwix Cottage, whilst modest from the outside is a real Tardis with three lovely separate seating areas, a cosy lounge to the front, a comfortable living room/dining room and a delightful conservatory to the rear which overlooks the peaceful and private rear garden which is a real joy and the perfect place to sit and relax. Also on the ground floor is a very well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and upstairs there are three bedrooms, one with en-suite and a family bathroom. There really is lots of space for all the family at Stanwix Cottage.
Stanwix Cottage is in a quiet area of the city within walking distance of the city centre and only moments from some lovely walks around Rickerby Park and the River Eden. The wonderful Cumbrian countryside is just waiting to be explored from the historical site of Hadrian’s wall with its rich history and dramatic landscape, to the majestic mountains and lakes of the Lake District National Park. A short drive will take you over the border to Scotland where you can drive along the stunning Solway Coast. Beach 21 miles. Pub and restaurant 15 yards.

Really super stay, the cottage itself is like a Tardis 😊, lots of space, very comfortable sitting rooms and bedrooms, plenty of space and good parking. Good secure garden if you are bringing your fur baby, 5 mins from the door are great walks- Rickerby or Bitts park. We are local and needed somewhere to go for a week, the Cottage is a great location if you are looking for a base to explore or if you need a base to work from. Nice little touches such as night lights, modern TVs for relaxing in the evening if you just like a quiet evening with a film. Minutes from a couple of nice pubs of fabulous take away but total peace and quiet when inside the house. Would definitely recommend, a fabulous spot.
