We stayed as a family of four at Villa Efthalia in Pitsidia in August 26 and the villa was perfect. Really clean and modern, really quiet aircon in every room and shutters on the windows to keep the light out, beds were really comfy, although two kings size Sophia arranged an extra day bed for us. Well equipped kitchen as well, very spacious all over with a lovely patio and then a lovely pool just across the drive. Anything we asked for Sophia responded straight away. The pool is best if you kids can swim as there is only a small stepped area for toddlers to play on then it is too deep for younger kids to stand up. The villa is in gated grounds shared with about six other villas so no worries losing your kids it is very private with space for a car or the villa. Its is 3 min walk down a small bank to the main road in Pitsidia where there is a great supermarket, coffee shop and tavernas, bakery, pharmacy etc. Across the road a little further takes you into the centre which is nice with a few tavernas and a few shops. A car is needed really to access the nearby beaches such as Matala, Kamilaki which are about 5 or 10 mins drive and Kamilari is close for nice tavernas etc, it also takes about 1 hour from Heraklion airport.
