This was one of our favourite places in terms of accommodation. The hosts welcomed us with wonderful gifts. The apartment had an incredible sea view, was beautifully equipped and offered more amenities than we could possibly use. The drive through the mountains to reach the apartment was spectacular, although some guests might see this as a disadvantage.
Nearby, there is a peaceful beach with the remains of a 2,000–3,000-year-old harbour and excellent snorkelling. After spending several days travelling around the touristy northern part of Crete, we wanted to experience a more authentic side of the island – and this place delivered far beyond our expectations. We ate on wonderful terraces overlooking the sea, went snorkelling, visited a large local market and drove through authentic mountain villages.
The way down to the beach is steep. Food and drinks should be bought in advance - there is no any market, although we even saw a food delivery courier arriving on a moped! Unfortunately, the air conditioning in one of the bedrooms was not working, which was genuinely very inconvenient.

La posizione del luogo è incredibile ed anche l’accoglienza è stata molto gradita: il cibo preparato per il nostro arrivo era davvero buonissimo, in particolare le marmellate fatte in casa e il formaggio. Gli spazi della casa molto ampli, inoltre la casa era dotata di tutto l’indispensabile.

Voula was so so so nice! Checking in was a dream, as she met us right there. She had even taken care to provide us with local delicacies and treats for breakfast. The place was so beautiful, the view breathtaking (exactly by the sea), we had it to ourselves and it felt like the end of the world. Comfortable martresses, kitchen with all the amenities, great balcony, everything was so clean! We will definitely be back! Highly recommend it!
