Resort Deja Vu

It’s beachfront.

The gym equipment were all rusted and unusable. Location was a bit inconvenient. Food cost is a bit high and does not give good value to quantity and quality.

The set up was great! Staff was very helpful and friendly!

The view to the beach front and design ng resort is so relaxing.

The staff of this property are the kindest and most considerate (special mention to Joy, such an admirable all-around help, thanks a lot, Joy). They really made our stay comfortable. Breakfast is good as well, and the big pull that stretches from the ground balcony towards the sea is gorgeous.

What I didn't like and perhaps the reason why I was not fully satisfied with our stay is that guests cannot eat or drink inside their rooms. The balconies were empty, no sand beds or seats for guests to enjoy the stay a bit more. When I asked about this, the staff mentioned it is the property policy. I read the check-in guidelines and it mentioned that this is to avoid fire ants to enter the rooms for food crumbs or drinks. For me, this is unreasonable! The staff always does a good job in cleaning everyday, I am not sure if that is an acceptable guideline. This really gave a minus on our stay as we always have to go to the restaurant to eat and drink and that makes it not as comfortable. Note, there were also no kettle to at least make coffee or tea first thing in the morning so if you wake up very early, you have to wait for the staff of the restaurant to clock in at 7 in the morning so they can provide you hot water. Imagine the inconvenience! Second thing, we ran out of water during our stay. There was a broken pump, which was not the hotel's fault but more of the municipality, however, the hotel manager did not handle the communication well. A note or information to all guests would have helped, yet the manager was doing something else leaving the staff facing the shouting Chinese guests that were staying in the same time as we were. When the water came back, there were no apologies from the property or manager, it was really bad handling and they could have done it better. Lastly, one cannot use debit or credit card to pay, only cash. Yes, ONLY CASH! Note that in Siquijor, each ATM machine only allows you to withdraw 10,000 PHP per day - imagine how inconvenient it is to ensure you have enough cash to pay at check out.
