Die Unterkunft befand sich in einer wenig ansprechenden Gegend, in der wir uns insbesondere bei einer nächtlichen Anreise nicht besonders wohlgefühlt haben. Das sollte man vor der Buchung berücksichtigen, vor allem wenn man allein unterwegs ist.
Der Self-Check-in verlief problemlos. Das Zimmer war sehr hübsch eingerichtet und die Betten waren bequem. Positiv fanden wir auch das bereitgestellte Wasser im Kühlschrank sowie die Kaffeepads für die Kaffeemaschine.
Insgesamt eine solide Unterkunft für eine Übernachtung, insbesondere wenn man spät in Catania ankommt. Für einen längeren Aufenthalt würden wir sie aufgrund der Lage und des festgestellten Schimmels jedoch nicht empfehlen.
Ein deutlicher Kritikpunkt war der Schimmel an der Wand im Eckbereich des Einzelbetts. Zudem hatten wir den Eindruck, dass ein Raumduft einen möglichen unangenehmen Geruch überdecken sollte. Ob dies tatsächlich der Fall war, können wir allerdings nicht beurteilen.

La struttura è nuova, ben arredata con un arredamento nuovo, moderno e un bellissimo stile. Il letto comodo, la stanza e’ equipaggiata di tutto e tutta la stanza era pulita e confortevole. Al mattino del check out abbiamo conosciuto i proprietari che sono delle splendide persone e con le quali abbiamo potuto conoscere e parlare e ci hanno dato alcuni suggerimenti.

The upstairs room looks charming, and the owner himself is communicative. The air conditioning in the room worked without any problems. That’s about it for the pluses.
The apartment listing highlights features such as the view. The only view here is of ruins and an unpleasant street. Unfortunately, the apartment wasn't perfectly clean; my socks got dirty from walking around. Additionally, strange noises could be heard coming from the wooden roof at night. And now, the worst part...
We noticed a few ants right after arriving (though we dismissed it as an isolated incident). Unfortunately, more ants appeared over the following days, and—worse still—a huge BUG. I messaged the owner because it looked like a COCKROACH. The owner didn't comment on the photo of the cockroach; instead, he explained that he was battling an ant problem caused by previous tenants failing to take out the trash. I had been asked to take out the trash as well, but unfortunately, I couldn't find any spare bin liners in the apartment. On the last evening, I found yet another COCKROACH; I was too tired to argue about it.
I suggest the host focus on getting rid of the bugs in the apartment first, rather than asking about the city tax payment right after the very first night.
