A simple but well equipped cabin, in an exceptional location. Walking trails quite literally on your doorstep. 10 feet away. Great little base for rambling, wildlife photography, and close enough to more populated areas to be handy if you need to nip out to get supplies. We spent a lot of the time just wandering through the vast woods, seeing all kinds of fauna and flora. Unbelievably quiet. Even birds know not to make a racket. Got some nice shots on the camera and camera trap of the Muntjac deer, wild rabbits, and various birds. The wood ant hills in the forest are something to behold. Absolutely enormous. Would have liked a little longer to explore further afield.
The only slight detraction from me would be the drive up to cabin. It is a quite bumpy track up to the cabin, but the owners did forewarn us as such. Just needs a little patience and steady driving. I managed it fine in a Focus ST which is quite low to the floor compared to most cars. Anything lower, you may have issues. I certainly wouldn't let that put you off visiting though.

The property is a beautiful little safe haven with Hereford just 15 mins down the road. Being able to wake up with nothing but sounds of nature was one of my favourite parts and watching the deer and local wildlife play just outside the window was a joy. The expansive bookcases of DVDs and books had us entertained with some classics we had forgotten about, we could have been rained in and not been bored for days! The walks all around the area are lovely and we travelled to go to Puzzlewood forest and the Forest of Dean which was about 40 mins away. The hosts are lovely and friendly. If we needed anything they were easily contactable and the welcome book had all the information you could need (instruction manuals for appliances included!). We will be back as there is so much to explore around the area and it was lovely to feel like we had disappeared into a little woodland escape even for a weekend.
