The staff were helpful and friendly. Ok to stay for 1 night as a solo traveller.
The room was not clean, there was rubbish piling in the bedroom bin from the previous customers. The bedsheets were not clean, there was a body hair on the pillow. The room had a strange musty smell to it. When waking up in the morning, it was incredibly noisy due to the vehicles honking and the location of the hotel is next to the main road. Outside the hotel, the roads looked dodgy. Unfortunately this is not what I was expecting from a hotel which claims to be a 5-star hotel. I could hear customers making noises who were staying in the floor above me from the bathroom. It was between 2-star or 3-star hotel or it was just like an average B&B sadly. A 5-star hotel would have better quality and facilities such at The Hilton Hotel Colombo, Jetwing Colombo Seven, and Shangri-La Colombo. Unfortunately, I think the rating of the hotel needs to re-evaluated.
