Very disappointed

Wasn’t the lodge I had oringal paid for , hot tub was cold and had to many chemicals in it. The bed was coved in dogs hair and seem to not have been cleaned

Property not as described and very poor complaint handling

The wider resort/park itself was pleasant and the property initially appeared clean and well presented on first entry.

Unfortunately the issues became clear very quickly. The property was materially not as described and fell well below a reasonable standard. We arrived to the wrong entry code and had no heating/hot water for several hours. Basic and advertised amenities were missing or unusable, including no bath plug, no DVD connection lead, and incomplete oven equipment (no grill pan, trays or usable setup), which made the oven effectively unusable. There were also problems with essential equipment and white goods, including a damaged fridge, along with cleanliness issues such as food remnants left in the dishwasher and signs the property had not been properly prepared between guests. This had a real impact on what should have been a relaxing break. Holidays are meant to reduce stress, not create it, and the lack of basic facilities made the stay unnecessarily difficult, particularly for families relying on a self-catering setup. More concerning was Booking.com’s handling of the complaint. Despite initially acknowledging the low quality of the accommodation, the process became unnecessarily difficult. I received repeated generic responses, was asked multiple times for information already provided, and was directed to reply to emails that could not be responded to. I was also told to contact the property directly despite them no longer responding. At the time of writing, I am still trying to obtain a proper response and resolution from Booking.com.

Very disappointed! Property needs better maintenance.

The resort is wonderful and in a great location if you want to explore the surrounding areas.

I wish I had booked direct through Retallack. I'll not be making the mistake again booking private. We lost out son 10 years ago and we were using this stay to get away to chill and refect as a family. It was anything but, on arrival the key code didn't work, took a few attempts going back and forth on the phone with the owner to get the correct one. Then we found the TV was broken downstairs and the one upstairs just didn't switch on. The hot tub was filthy, filter was covered in gunk and there were blue plastic bits floating around. We did complain to the owner and we were moved to a more superior property but it had no hot tub. Learnt my lesson, won't be making the mistake again.

Lovely property, very clean, nicely decorated and a great size. Beds were comfortable

We couldn’t get the tv to work. There were no instructions at the property, after being advised to download an app we eventually figured it out. The hot tub was lovely but only downside was when we lifted the lid there was a lighter and tobacco left on the side and an empty beer bottle floating.
