Important things to know when planning a trip to Exuma:
- Renting a car is highly recommended. Almost all of our guests rent cars for the duration of their stay and it is the best and easiest way to explore the island. Additionally, Exuma is unlike other islands - golf carts are not a typical form of transport on the main roads.
- Protect yourself from the unpredictable. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance for your trip that protects against any unexpected travel disruptions or delays. We’d be happy to recommend specific providers.
- Thinking of a boat rental? Boat rentals on Exuma are typically daily rentals only (no overnights). Therefore, it may not be necessary to pick your house based on the presence of a dock. If you’re bringing your own boat and your property doesn’t have a dock, please identify your closest Marina (provided above).
- Thinking about a private chef? On Exuma - regardless of where you stay - most private chefs charge about $50–$100 per person, per meal on average. This usually includes the cost of groceries and a full menu (for example, a starter, main, and dessert, or a larger spread for breakfast or lunch). Keep in mind, this is just a general guideline for budgeting. Final pricing depends on: group size, menu requests, cost of food, and style of service. We always recommend sharing your preferences directly with the chef to receive an accurate quote tailored to your needs.
- Plan ahead: Restaurant reservations are recommended for peak seasons, particularly for large groups!
Other Rules:
- No parties. No exceeding guest count on property.
- Minimum 7-night stay over peak or holiday seasons and/or weekend to weekend bookings.
- Christmas (night of the 25th) and New Years Eve (night of the 31st) cannot be booked together, except for stays of 14 nights or longer.
- Instant bookings are subject to 24-hour review to ensure adherence to house rules.

We don’t want to leave! Hart House had everything we needed and more for an amazing vacation. The beach right out our door was incredible, the house was centrally located to all of the activities we wanted to do, everything was clean and beds were so comfortable, AC worked well. We are already planning our second trip to Exuma to stay here at Hart House!

This house checks all the boxes, oceanfront, infinity pool, outdoor bar and gazebo. The inside has great gathering space and spacious bedrooms and baths.

Everything was in order. Kitchen was fully stocked and all of the outdoor amenities were in very good condition

I had high expectations with 76 10 out of 10 ratings. Good: location, beach, cleanliness and well stockedNeeds improvement: property is aging, furniture is uncomfortable, the four bedrooms are a good size, the common area is extremely small. This likely works in the summer, but over the Xmas holiday, you really need some indoor space. Stove is old and doesn’t work well. The property owner never reached out, it has been completely sourced to a property manager. There are no water toys - e.g., paddle boards would be super cheap to add vs the renters have to provision at an additional cost. Unacceptable: listing is inaccurate. It claims that there is a washer and dryer. There is but not available to the guest. It may seem minor, we purposely pick houses with laundry for ease of packing. We’ve stayed at several amazing properties through VRBO that are deserving of a 10 out of 10. This isn’t one of them. The price to value just isn’t there.
