doors to the bathroom were not closing properly, there were some bugs in the bathroom on a few occasions

The Front of House staff are amazing and very friendly.
While our stay at Gila House on Gili Air started off with a bright spot thanks to the genuinely friendly staff, the overall experience fell short of expectations due to poor upkeep and unprofessional management.
Property & Maintenance: The grounds were noticeably neglected. The gardens and walking paths were overgrown with grass, and the plants surrounding the pool were dead, detracting heavily from the island atmosphere.
Room Safety: Inside the room, we were concerned to find that the in-room safe was not properly secured. Which meant we had to carry out valuables with us at all times.
Management: Although the frontline staff were warm and welcoming, the management left a lot to be desired. The manager spent most of the time sitting at the bar with his legs propped up on an adjacent stool, offering a very unprofessional impression to guests.
While the staff's kindness was appreciated, the lack of property maintenance, security issues, and poor management oversight mean we would look elsewhere next time we visit Gili Air.
