Location 150 meters from main road, easy walk into town centre, quiet peaceful corner block location. Stunning furnishings, comfortable bed, no noisy neighbours or street noise. Hostess friendly and accommodating, Jeanette went way beyond what you would expect for a first time meeting and a first time stay for me at the Convent Cell, A must stay place if you are going to York. 10/10 from me

My partner and I stayed for 1 night while working as traders at the York Motor Show. The location is perfect—just around the corner from the main street—and the property has ample parking, which was a massive plus for our vehicle. TheConventCells is a stunningly converted historical convent that the owner, Janete, has turned into her home. We stayed in what used to be the nuns' sleeping cells, which have been totally and beautifully renovated into a luxurious space. Janete told us she tried to think of everything she would want if she were a guest, and it absolutely shows. The decor is amazing and the crockery is exquisite. The high-quality manchester and linens made for a wonderful night's sleep. The building's renovation is so well insulated that even though we turned the aircon off before going to bed, the rooms stayed beautifully warm right through until morning.The amenities were incredibly plentiful—including a coffee pod machine, a great range of tea bags, and even a lovely surprise of welcome bubbles on arrival. Janete really has thought of everything. It felt like an absolute treat and we will definitely be back next year!
