The view from the room. Bed was comfortable.

It was a nice surprise to receive a welcome gift. It was also nice to be able to get a cup of coffee or hot chocolate from the lobby.
Hard to reach staff after hours with check in questions. Did not respond to email inquiry. Lobby hours not consistent.

The staff was kind/attentive - I think they deal with lots of frustrated people and are doing their best. The location is phenomenal.
It’s run down - and not just in the outdated way (we’d be fine with that). The carpet in our room needed replacing, it felt consistently damp for the whole stay like it was trapping humidity (and the weather wasn’t bad or hot, so that was confusing). The bathroom needs updating, the shower water felt slimy. The windows/door need securing - we were getting millipedes (5-6) in through the door cracks and spiders in the bathroom (it’s a slightly wooded area, not shocked by a spider). The maid service left a ln overflowing bag of dirty garbage outside our room in the heat all day into the night - we were getting a smell. Unfortunately, the rating on Booking seems to reflect years past, this site is not an 8 property any longer. It’s more a 6.5/7.
