This was our favorite stay in Japan! The staff were the kindest and most helpful people. The room was absolutely gorgeous and so comfortable. We stayed in the river suite (Jitoku) and the sound of the water was so peaceful. The room has an attached private shower/bath, toilet, and sink. There is an onsen available that is private (it can hold up to two people in the same group, you mark it as occupied when you are in there). The surrounding area is so beautiful, we saw several monkeys and the waterfall. There are a bunch of cafes around that close around 1600-1700, but there are a few restaurants open later closer to the station (including a Lawsons). We can’t wait to come back and do some more relaxing and hiking!

The location is beautiful and serene, the staff takes great care of you. They serve a wonderful Japanese breakfast, and are nestled right along the river in the park. It’s a short hike to the waterfall, and also down to minoh station, to connect you to the rest of Osaka. Finally, when your day is done they have an amazing private spa, which comes as part of the experience. It includes a hot spa bath, shower, and sauna, that really complement the location and help you relax.

Amazing stay and easy communication via Hotels.com booking site!
We got dropped off at the wrong location by our taxi and ended up pushing our giant tourist suitcases up the hill! We were greeted by cheery staff who had come down to find and help us! Not only that but as soon as we came in we were assisted right away in cooling down and our stuff was taken right to our room. Our entire stay was so wonderful in a large part due to the kindness of the staff. The rooms, bath, and meals were top tier. We almost cried from gratitude on the way out! Please be encouraged to stay!
