We had a lovely stay at Atlantic Beach House. The house was beautiful, comfortable and in a fantastic location. The view of the Wild Atlantic Ocean is amazing, especially waking up in the morning and being able to see the ocean from the bed. It was so peaceful and relaxing, with the sea right on the doorstep. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. A big thank you to Michael a very friendly and welcoming host.

Superb location, great views, friendly host, nice welcome choccies, with some basic essentials as well.
The standard of the property is not good inside or out, there are many examples from the flapping/knocking fascia board to the exposed foam insulation around the toilet, the bathroom door is heath Robinson
The property shares a hot water system with the adjoining Sea Breeze rental … we had zero hot water the first morning - the owners son had to visit next door to put it on boost to generate some hot water later for us
The shower simply does not work - it’s as though it’s not connected to the cold water to modify the hot, which when available is scalding - the host tried to fix by telling us how to use but to no avail, we are both quite capable of using a mixer shower but reverted to jug and bowl from the hand basin for all our washing. There was no further contact from the host after the son’s visit, but also we didn’t call him again either
On top of this, the bathroom is unheated and damp and supports an eco system of small worms and bigger slugs.
There is a connecting door to Sea Breeze which allowed us to hear our neighbour’s quite clearly, and them us I would imagine
The heating is by electrical convector heaters - you have to move the radiator type wooden/mdf covers to adjust, and in doing this you uncover the warning stickers on the heaters saying do not cover …! That feels somewhat unsafe - best left without the covers.
We are baffled by some of the glowing reviews of the apartment - the location and setting is not in our opinion, enough to disregard the shortcomings of the apartment itself, particularly as it’s not a low cost stay compared to all other places we stayed on our trip.
