Extremely disappointing experience – be careful when booking

Extremely disappointing experience – be careful when booking We booked this accommodation six months in advance and had made our travel plans accordingly. Two days before our planned departure, the host suddenly contacted us via WhatsApp and told us that we could not stay at the property because the heating was supposedly broken. I immediately contacted Booking.com. The host then confirmed to Booking.com that we could come after all, so we assumed everything was resolved and continued with our original travel plans. However, on the day of our arrival, we received another WhatsApp message from the host saying that we could not come after all. At that point, we were already travelling and had our 5-year-old child with us. We had to find alternative accommodation at very short notice, which caused a great deal of unnecessary stress and inconvenience. What makes the situation particularly questionable is that the booking calendar showed that the accommodation was available for booking again on our arrival date, while the following day was already booked by someone else. This makes the explanation about the broken heating seem highly questionable. In my opinion, this is extremely unreliable and unacceptable behaviour. Booking a property six months in advance only to be cancelled shortly before, and ultimately on the day of arrival, is particularly stressful when travelling with a young child. I am posting this review primarily as a warning to other guests. Based on our experience, I would not book this accommodation again and would strongly recommend thinking twice before relying on this host or this booking.

Brilliant place

Fab stay, 3 nights not long enough, loved the birds and visiting cat.

Could of done with padding on the out door loungers. The security light is very bright when sitting out on the porch after dark.

Netjes en schoon

We zijn nu drie weken in Schotland en worden overal hartelijk ontvangen. Op deze locatie is dat anders. De vele waarschuwingen vooraf over het mogelijk breken van spulletjes en de penalty’s geeft blijk van weinig vertrouwen in de gasten. Het continu Camera toezicht op het terras voelt erg ongemakkelijk. Er is geen kookplaatje en pannen waar je even een ei in kunt koken. We hebben dit Nog niet eerder zo meegemaakt in Schotland terwijl de prijs fors is.
