We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Merenchi and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome. The host was exceptionally friendly, warm, and attentive, and truly made us feel at home. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, very comfortable, and clearly prepared with great care. The service was outstanding throughout our entire stay. Everything was handled with such kindness and professionalism, and you can really feel how much effort is put into making guests feel comfortable and well looked after. We felt completely relaxed and genuinely enjoyed every moment here. In fact, we would have loved to stay much longer and were quite sad to leave; unfortunately, our flight was already waiting for us! We can wholeheartedly recommend The Merenchi to anyone visiting Sri Lanka. It is a truly special place with wonderful hospitality, excellent service, and a lovely atmosphere. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

I honestly had such a wonderful stay at The Merenchi by Alexander Kane. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was staying with family rather than at a hotel. The family was incredibly kind, welcoming, and caring, and that is what made my experience truly special.
The room was clean, comfortable, and the bed was so comfortable that I slept really well. The location is also fantastic—it feels like you are right in the middle of everything, making it very easy to reach different places around Galle.
I especially loved the breakfast. They make it fresh and special for you whenever you wake up, which made me feel very well taken care of. Even when I needed something urgently, including medical help, they were kind enough to bring it for me when I couldn’t go out myself. That level of care meant a lot to me.
But honestly, what I will remember most is the family. When it was time to leave, I actually had tears in my eyes because I wasn’t just leaving a hotel—I was leaving a kind and caring family that I had grown very fond of.
I truly loved my stay here and would happily come back again. Thank you to the whole family for making me feel so welcome and at home. ❤️

Nice, clean location with somewhat unique interior. They went above and beyond and prepared a breakfast free of charge for us even though it was not included in our package. They were friendly, kind and really nice people. Location was close to the beach and rooftop was nice to relax in the evening. Good value for money. Highly recommended

This hotel was one of the highlights of my trip. The calm, peaceful, and serene atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind after long days of traveling and busy tours. From the moment I arrived, it truly felt like a home away from home.
A special thanks to Asanker and Mama, who always went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. Their genuine warmth and hospitality made my stay even more memorable.
Everything about the hotel was exceptional—from the beautiful pool and thoughtfully designed interiors to the stunning rooftop, where you can enjoy peaceful views of the neighborhood and the shoreline. Every detail was simply perfect.
I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended it for another night because I genuinely didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, tranquility, and outstanding hospitality. I’ll definitely be booking here again on my next visit.
