Panoramic ocean views steal the show at this private, original adobe retreat — a classic Hacienda-style home rich in charm and attention to detail. Nestled atop the foothills of Vista in San Diego's North County, this secluded estate was originally built in 1926 and sits on 1.45 acres.
The property's layout reflects authentic Hacienda design: the central kitchen, dining and living areas form the heart of the home, while the bedrooms are housed in separate wings/structures for privacy and quiet. Spanning over 3,000 sq. ft., the main house is composed of three connected structures joined by a covered loggia, creating distinct living and sleeping zones ideal for larger groups.

This home was far more than a vacation rental for our family—it was a return to a place filled with memories. My mother grew up here, and being able to celebrate her here was an experience we’ll never forget.What makes this property so special is how beautifully it balances preservation and modernization. The home has retained its original charm and nostalgia while being thoughtfully updated and exceptionally maintained. You can feel the pride of ownership in every detail, from the house itself to the immaculate grounds.The pool deserves special mention. It is, without question, one of the most beautiful private pools we’ve ever enjoyed. Everything was perfectly maintained and inviting. Our seven-year-old son spent every possible moment swimming and is still talking about it.The home was comfortable in every way. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, the property was well-equipped, and everything was exactly as advertised. The location was also ideal—close enough to enjoy the Oceanside Farmers Market and convenient for day trips, yet peaceful enough to feel like a retreat.For my mother, who lived here from the 1940s into the early 1980s, seeing what the property has become was incredibly meaningful. In many ways, it felt like the realization of the vision her father had when he purchased the home.This house allowed our family to reconnect with our history while creating new memories together. We left already talking about coming back.

We loved this vacation home! Our family had an amazing time. The house was super cozy, the pool was amazing for hanging out, and the decoration made everything feel stylish and comfortable.

The property is stunning! The house is beautifully decorated with everything you could need, even a juicer to enjoy all the citrus fruit from the large orchard. The beds were really comfy. The pool is amazing with a long water slide and gorgeous views. Poolside is a great place to relax or set up to work and enjoy the sunshine and breeze. Taking an evening stroll past the fruit trees around to the top along the pooand down by the massive fountain adorning the circular drive provides stunning sunset views. It’s clear the owners take wonderful care of this spectacular place. Booking and check-in was easy and clear. Just an all-around great experience. I’m looking forward to my next stay.

We were so excited to rent this property because of the pool, waterfall, and slide for our ladies trip to relax and have an amazing view and fun time with the pool. It was fabulous for the first two days but then the waterfall, slide and all together the pool pump stopped working. I tried contacting management and it was handled very poorly and it did not get fixed. We were mostly upset that no one even came to look at the pool over the 24 hours I had been reaching out.
We specifically rented this property for the soul reason of the pool but we were disappointed the third and fourth day it wasn’t working. They offered $20 at first to reimburse us then agreed on $100. With spending $3400 we just didn’t feel that was a justifiable reimbursement since people most likely would rent this property for its pool and amenities.
Another part that was not mentioned is the chickens/ roosters that apparently are on the land tight by the house. They woke us up every morning at 4:30 which was not pleasant.
Overall it was a nice spot, but wouldn’t go back.
