Lovely apartment in a great location

Very disappointing because we were expecting a luxury apartment.

The location was superb. Close to the cathedral and the historic town centre The large kitchen/living area is modern, comfortable and stylishly furnished. The sofas are big and squashy. The large roof lantern lets in tons of light, and the bifold doors lead to a lovely small courtyard. Kathryn replied to my requests for help quickly and remedied what she could, promptly. She was lovely.

The apartment needs a thorough deep clean. The shower tray and door seal has black mould. The shower head needs descaling, as do the shower valves and glass, both dull and marked by limescale. Similarly, black mould in the bathroom cupboard. There was a small fridge freezer left unplugged in the living area, again there was mould inside the freezer. The kitchen freezer still had food from a previous guest and a pink food spill hadn't been cleaned up. The dishwasher was full of the previous guest's crockery. A kitchen cupboard was dirty with another old food spill. Kathryn was marvellous, quickly replacing the espresso machine which was leaking water over the worktops and replacing some incredibly dim light bulbs with brighter ones so I could see in the bedroom in the evening (maybe more a matter of personal choice). Replacing the light bulbs led to the discovery that the chrome light fitting was thick with dust apart from where my fingers prints had wiped it away, and there were cobwebs in several places. Now to the main event... The boiler was faulty on arrival. There was drama on two mornings when I had to abandon my shower, fully soaped from head to toe when the water turned completely cold. Kathryn told us how to reset the boiler, which we did several times during our stay, then had to wait for the water to reheat before being able to rinse off the soap and shampoo. There were only two of us in this apartment which sleeps four, so only two showers each morning. Tepid water was the best we could get but personally, I suffered three cold showers during my three night stay. Cleanliness and hot water is the minimum requirement for any guest accommodation but somehow our experience seemed even worse because the apartment is advertised as luxury!

Great spacious 2 bedroom

Great Location in central Bury St Edmunds! We loved having 2 bedrooms and plenty of room. Also the huge glass window/door was awesome!

We loved the location, the apartment is lovely and very well appointed. The communication pre arrival was excellent. I would definitely recommend this property. Lots of lovely places to eat very near by.
