Location, location, location! Fully renovated duplex located in downtown Black Mountain (which was recently voted by Trip Advisor as one of the “Prettiest Small Towns in America to Vacation.”). Park your car and take a hike or ride your bike. This top unit is within walking distance to everything local in Black Mountain. Such as; restaurants, breweries, shops, craft stores, picnic areas, walking paths, greenways and town festivities. There is also a nearby golf course, park and lake. You will be in downtown Black Mountain. Walking distance to downtown, near I-40; Montreat College; Camp Merri-Mac; Katazuma; Warren Wilson College; 20 minute drive to Asheville; 30 min drive to Catawba Falls.

Nice property! The kitchen is amazing, so if you’re staying longer term, this is great! 4 burner gas stovetop, microwave, and big air fryer! Bedrooms are smallish, but perfectly adequate with queen beds. Living room area comfortable with couch and loveseat. Overhead recessed lighting, but I would recommend lamp as well for more subtle options. The overhead lights are kind of glaring and bright. Bathroom is great, very strong water pressure in the shower! Love it! The porch is so great to sit and chill, our dog’s favorite spot. Host is responsive and great!

This is a very cute and clean place! We enjoyed our stay, although it was a rainy weekend, so we did not explore the town much as we came for music, but what we did see of the town was great! The location is ideal for walking in town.The only downside to this place is the matress we slept on was a bit on the soft side, and the coffee make is so small you have to make multiple pots for more than 1 person. Other than that this place is great, better than a hotel since you have a full kitchen, nice balcony to hang out and I guess a fire pit that we did not use. I'm not sure if this place has mountain views as it was too rainy to see much.

Great location! Walkable and dog friendly. The host was very helpful and informative. We will definitely book again next time we’re in the area.

We were able to book both units in this duplex for a family holiday gathering. Certainly, we could not have found anything better located in Black Mountain. As the property description indicates, we were just five minutes from the center of this lovely small town and five minutes from Lake Tomahawk Park. All of us, including our dogs, enjoyed our stay in Take-a-Hike.
