We stayed at Joe Dodge Lodge while hiking Mount Washington, and everything was great: the facilities, staff, breakfast, and cleanliness.
It was expensive for us, although the price is typical for the area and the stay was still worth it. One practical issue is that grocery stores are not nearby. If you prefer not to spend time and money at restaurants, book a rate that includes dinner or plan to drive for food. Breakfast is included, but dinner at the lodge must generally be booked in advance as part of a specific rate on their website. They may not be able to sell dinner separately because meal quantities are planned for guests who booked it ahead of time.
