We really loved staying here! The cabin was nice & nestled into nature. We saw plenty of sloths, birds, butterflies, frogs, etc. right on the property. The night tour in particular was really great. The gardens and trails on the property are beautiful. It’s also within easy driving distance to other attractions (Rio Celeste, etc.)

Room as clean. The breakfast was fantastic and included with the cost of the room which was great. I literally watched howler monkeys swing from the trees as I ate my breakfast! The grounds, trails and property were out of this world beautiful. Kendall, one of the family/owners was very friendly and welcoming. The guided tour I took the next morning was super. Highly recommend and great value. (Don't speak spanish at all? I really recommend requesting Jose-Pedro. If you speak some Spanish, Elana was great too! Sloths, howler monkies, frogs, butterflies, incredible trees/lizards, etc. Walking the property myself was quite enjoyable as well. Super place. Little bench outside was nice for moring coffee. Having a coffee pot/coffee in room is always welcomed! Great location and lots to do in the area. Love Bijagua!
I arrived in the dark and it was very difficult to know where to go upon arrival as it was VERY dark outside and not well lit and no clear signage. I was traveling solo and it was a bit unnerving. Wasn't given specific directions about this after booking either. A direct message after booking to confirm/give directions would have been helpful. It did feel a bit eerie being out in my little room as the only guest there that night. There were animals running on the roof much of the night and things falling onto the tin roof from the trees. It was very difficult to sleep from all of the outside noise. There were also a couple different types of ants in the room, large ones walking on the bed where I was sleeping. I totally expect occasional insects while in CR but there were open spaces in the walls/window sills, etc.where they were coming in that could have better seals on them. Made it hard to sleep. (I did learn to leave the outside porch light on until I went to bed so the bugs outside would be attracted to THAT light instead of mine inside to help keep them out. Musty odor from bathroom, often typical in places like this in Central America.
I knew there wasn't A/C but it was so loud outside I had to close the one window with a screen on it. There was a large fan, but it was actually too powerful and loud for such a small space.
A sitting chair would have been nice and a nightstand with room to sit my things or a desk would have been nice. The price was decent for what it was, but with a few, small upgrades, they could easily charge more and bring more folks back for sure. The bathroom faucet was really loose, the basin crooked and required two hands to turn it off and on as the tap would turn sidways and soap would not stay on edge but would fall into sink.
