Facilities offered were extensive

Security: Door to street not lockable. Carried passport etc when I went out. Flex protruded from wall - was it safe? Misc. No user manual: WiFi code not provided, central heating only came on for 30 minutes a day, boiler controls didn't work but had been painted? Shower handset held on with shoe lace. Bathroom basin pop down plug didn't work- washed kitchen sink! Blinds in lounge controls broken. Cleaning. Bathroom bin full, hair in bath plug hole & kitchen waste bin needs a good clean especially the lid. I was by myself I don't think we'd have stayed if my wife was with me.

Location and the living room.

Needed some TLC, kitchen had sticky bin and dirty surfaces, bathroom shower was held up by a hairband wrapped round the shower head and hose, curtains in the bedroom were dirty, did not cover the whole window and were also hanging off the hooks in places. The hall window leading upstairs to the bedroom was jammed wide open, was also sticky and broken. I messaged on arrival and received a response 3 hours later(9pm approx) saying someone could come round a fix it. I said it was too late at night but they arrived in the morning and fixed it. Heating also did not work and had to use one electric radiator which I moved from front room to bedroom.

Great place to stay, clean and comfortable. Great comms from the owner. I would point out if you have mobility issues not a great place.

Gas shut off for a few hours but owner fixed quickly.

The flat is clean, all the appliances work. Nice location. The information sent out before our arrival included a detailed description which made finding the place easy. There are some serious caveats, though: this place is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. To get to the flat from Douglas town centre, it is a steep walk up 93 stairs or an uphill walk around the bend. If you're fit, it's just five minutes and no problem. The flat is very close to the centre and the ferry terminal. It's on the upmost level of the house, so again, more stairs. The front door of the house is permanently unlocked, there isn't a lock at all and we found that very strange. Anyone can walk in. The flat itself has a key, but the door isn't a very secure one. The flat is located on two levels. Kitchen and living room on the lower level are normal rooms, the upstairs bedroom and bathroom are situated under the roof and the ceilings are therefore angled and very, very low on one side. To sit on the toilet, some advanced yoga move is required. Just about okay during the day, but at night time, not so great. Yes, there are plenty of stickers reminding you that the ceilings are low, but we're both very tall and spending a week bending ourselves into awkward shapes wasn't exactly relaxing. Hence the lower rating. We had booked the flat before other reviewers mentioned the low ceilings, otherwise I wouldn't have booked this place. Another niggle: there were no instruction manuals for the cooker, washing machine and dryer.
