Handy location, comfortable bed. Had everything we needed, great to have a bath.

Steep walk and lots of stairs. Low ceilings upstairs. Needs better curtains or blinds in bedroom.

The flat is clean, all the appliances work. Nice location. The information sent out before our arrival included a detailed description which made finding the place easy. There are some serious caveats, though: this place is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. To get to the flat from Douglas town centre, it is a steep walk up 93 stairs or an uphill walk around the bend. If you're fit, it's just five minutes and no problem. The flat is very close to the centre and the ferry terminal. It's on the upmost level of the house, so again, more stairs. The front door of the house is permanently unlocked, there isn't a lock at all and we found that very strange. Anyone can walk in. The flat itself has a key, but the door isn't a very secure one. The flat is located on two levels. Kitchen and living room on the lower level are normal rooms, the upstairs bedroom and bathroom are situated under the roof and the ceilings are therefore angled and very, very low on one side. To sit on the toilet, some advanced yoga move is required. Just about okay during the day, but at night time, not so great. Yes, there are plenty of stickers reminding you that the ceilings are low, but we're both very tall and spending a week bending ourselves into awkward shapes wasn't exactly relaxing. Hence the lower rating. We had booked the flat before other reviewers mentioned the low ceilings, otherwise I wouldn't have booked this place. Another niggle: there were no instruction manuals for the cooker, washing machine and dryer.
