There are many things I really enjoyed about Unseen. You can feel the care and thought that have gone into creating the space, and I especially appreciated the whole world they have built around coffee, even though I don’t drink coffee myself. The room was very comfortable, and the bed was particularly good.
I also enjoyed the atmosphere during the day. There is a pleasant rhythm to the place, with people having coffee, talking, working or simply spending time there, and it gives Unseen a sense of life and community.
I also really enjoyed the salsa and bachata night. The atmosphere was healthy, joyful and welcoming, with people dancing very well, and I ended up joining in and having a great time.
Overall, I think Unseen is a beautiful, carefully conceived place with a strong identity, where a lot of attention has clearly been given to creating an experience rather than simply providing accommodation.
What I missed most was the possibility of truly choosing my own rhythm. Unseen’s philosophy speaks beautifully about pause, calm, stillness and rediscovering a certain slowness, but at times I felt there was quite a lot of sensory input happening at once: music during breakfast, different music at night, activity around the pool and bar, and quite a lot of movement through the lobby and common areas.
I genuinely enjoyed the social side of the hotel, including the salsa and bachata night, so for me the issue wasn’t the activity itself. It was that when I decided to return to my room and rest, I found it difficult to really disconnect from what was still happening downstairs.
I don’t think social life and stillness have to contradict each other. I would simply take a little more care with the space between these different layers, so that guests can participate in the life of the hotel when they want to, but can also genuinely step away when they need silence, rest or fewer stimuli.

Loved the room and the aesthetic.
The in-room tea/coffee set up was too complicated for my mother to navigate. Wifi on the 2nd floor wasn't great, we struggled to be able to watch a movie in the room.

Property was very aesthetically designed and furnished! Beds were super comfy, the coffee was perfect and the staff were extremely polite and professional! They also have a pet doggo - that’s in forever siesta mood!
