We had such a wonderful stay at Haru Ahangama. It was easily one of our favourite places during our time in Sri Lanka.
Having only opened in February, everything felt fresh, modern and thoughtfully designed. It is a gorgeous area/building. The owners were incredibly kind and attentive, always going out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
The rooms were very spacious, with a lovely outdoor area that made it feel even more relaxing. The rooms were also very well equipped. It was actually the first place we stayed in Sri Lanka that had a SMART TV, which was a nice bonus.
The location is peaceful and tucked away from the main road which was ideal for us enjoy the peace and quiet at night. It is only just a 5 minute walk to Kabalana Beach. It’s also right next to Terra Resort, which was perfect for us as we wanted to join a yoga class. Getting into the busier streets of Ahangama is easy with a quick tuk-tuk ride, or a short walk if you don’t mind getting your steps in :) perfect for us!
Breakfast each morning was fantastic, with a huge variety of options - they provided us with a Western-style menu that really suited us. It was like an Irish/Scottish fry-up from home :) Filled us up for most of the day! One small touch we really appreciated was how quickly they provided fresh, cold milk in the evenings when we asked. Great since I am a big tea lover!
Out of all the places we stayed, this was definitely the best value for money. We originally planned to stay for just one night, but loved it so much that we decided to extend which really says it all!

This was by far the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. Everything exceeded my expectations. The host was incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure that every detail was taken care of. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming at all times.
The rooms were spotless and in a very modern, top condition. The breakfast was outstanding, a wide selection of fresh fruits, eggs, and everything you could wish for, with the option to order additional items individually.

Everything was exceptional. We were able to sleep peacefully without any noise from trains or the main street. The room was completely new, and honestly, we didn’t see whiter walls anywhere else in Sri Lanka. The bed was also very large and comfortable, which made our stay even more relaxing. We also had a wonderful terrace where we could relax and spend several calm evenings. And the best part was the smiling staff and the amazing breakfast!

I had a fantastic stay at Haru Ahangama. The rooms are modern and beautifully designed, with sleek fittings and an incredibly comfortable bed. Honestly, the bed was one of the comfiest I’ve slept on. The space feels fresh, spacious, and very well thought out.
The location is ideal. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the beach and perfectly positioned. It’s close enough to reach the lively streets of Ahangama, but far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. It really strikes the perfect balance.
The property itself is spacious with a lovely garden area and an outdoor bar.
Breakfast was another highlight. We were given a delicious spread with scrumptious local fruits and a well-prepared continental breakfast to start the day.
Overall, it’s peaceful, stylish, and excellent value for money. I would absolutely stay here again.
There is nothing they could have done better. It was perfect!
