We were looking for somewhere to stay that was peaceful and beautiful and this place ticked all the boxes. The small cottage was perfectly set up for self catering and well designed to enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. The nature bathroom was great but does allow some insects in but that is Sri Lanka.
We loved waking up to the sound of the birds and the sunrise, and kayaking on the lake allowed us to see so much birdlife up close.
We shopped at the market in Tangalle and enjoyed cooking at the property in the well equipped kitchen. We had our own transport which was definitely an advantage. We wished we had more time to spend here to truly enjoy the peace and quiet.

We loved it all. Not having restaurants in walking distance did not bother us. You could get food delivered if you are not self catering.
