The location was outstanding, but the cleanliness seriously affected our holiday.

The location is excellent, right across from the Great Synagogue. It is within walking distance of many of Budapest's main attractions, restaurants, and public transport. One evening, after a day of sightseeing, we returned to the apartment and were pleasantly surprised to find a live klezmer concert taking place just below our windows.

Unfortunately, the apartment was in a very poor state of cleanliness, and this overshadowed our entire one-week stay. We arrived late at night and, within minutes of taking off our shoes, our feet were black because the floors were so dirty. There was a thick layer of dust on shelves and bedside surfaces, cobwebs and insects in the corners, and it was obvious that furniture had not been moved for cleaning in a very long time. The kitchen still contained bread left by previous guests . Even the dishwashing sponge looked extremely old, worn out, and unhygienic. I bought a new sponge myself for our stay, and after using it for a full week it still looked much cleaner than the one that had been left in the apartment. Behind the mirrored wardrobe doors we found clutter and rubbish, which also contributed to the odour. The following morning I had to wipe the dust, clean the floors myself, and even clean the sofas before we could feel comfortable enough to stay there. Despite this, the apartment never felt truly clean. The bedding was of very poor quality and stained, the pillows were uncomfortable, and one of the mattresses was extremely hard. Although the apartment looks attractive in the photos and has features such as a large jacuzzi bath, the lack of cleanliness made us reluctant to use many of the facilities. We spent each day exploring Budapest and looked forward to relaxing in the apartment in the evenings, but instead we returned to a place where we never felt comfortable. Looking back, I wish we had moved elsewhere.
