The breakfast was nice. The location of the hotel was comfortable for my business needs. There are 2 good restaurants exactly next to the hotel. Lawson is also part of the hotel building, so it was easy for me to grab something I need quickly. Shout out to Mr Jesse, who helped the guests with their luggage. He always stood at the entrance door of the hotel. He was the only one who spoke English and helped us order a DiDi taxi with his own phone.

The staff barely speaks English. Even for check-in and check-out, we could not communicate well. I tried to order room service, but no one speaks English. I had to go down to the restaurant myself. In the restaurant, only one person spoke very little English; she helped us order our food. Then, since no one understood English, no one sent my food to my room. I had to go down for the second time to take my food upstairs to my room myself. When we checked out, we asked the staff at the reception whether they could help us order a taxi to go to the train station, but they refused, they told us to order the taxi ourself with DiDi. Thank God, there was Mr. Jesse, at the entrance who spoke English and helped us. The wifi service in the room was complicated. There was a QR code, but all instructions were in Mandarin (no English option was provided). Then a lady entered our room, trying to help us with the Wi-Fi, but she spoke no English at all. We could not understand anything she said. So, we had no wifi access at all in the room. For an international chain hotel like Novotel, it is rather disappointing that the staff do not speak English, at least for hotel service and hospitality needs.

Great location. Good sized, comfortable bedroom. Decent breakfast.

The lifts are far too slow and very hot inside. Poor refrigerator in bedroom (doesn’t keep anything chilled). No one serving at lobby bar, therefore no one sitting in it. Only a seafood restaurant within the hotel.
